For sale a good used 1998 Suzuki 9.9hp short shaft 15" motor, this is a oil injected motor. We went through the motor and performed a leakdown test and all the cylinders were less than 2% which is great. A leak down test measures the air leaking past the piston and rings by placing air pressure into the spark plug and rotating piston to top dead center. This percentage is measured with a gauge with 100% leak down the worst and 0% the very best. Most engines of any displacement have some percentage of leakdown. However you want all cylinders equal or close to equal and once it gets above 20% you will have running issues most of the time. We installed a new water pump impeller, pressure and vacuum tested gearcase. We do have video of this running we can send. Overall this is a great running motor that starts and works great. This has been used in freshwater all of its life. Overall this cosmetically looks nice and mechanically its sound. This comes with prop. We do offer a 60 day in house warranty beginning when customer begins to use it.
